Entertaining Bailey

One of the boys chores is to entertain Bailey while I shower and get ready. Usually she either ends up sitting in her bumbo watching tv with them. But as you can see she LOVES it.

Once in a while they run out of ideas, and this is what happens.
Little sisters fit perfectly in toy shopping carts.

Halloween

Better late than never right? Tyler really wanted to be a dog last year for Halloween but a certain male authority figure in his life spent a lot of time and effort to talk him out of it. Well this year I didn't let that person shop for the boys costumes with me and, a dog was chosen again. Connor wants to be a tow truck driver/superhero/police officer when he grows up so for Halloween we got in 1/3 of the future desire and dressed as Batman, the Brave and the Bold.

The afore mention male authority figure did NOT want the baby in a costume so that is why she is not in these pictures, though she did have a cute Halloween outfit that said "Daddy is under my spell" and had a black cat on the bum of the pants.

Tyler's 6th Birthday

For Tyler's birthday all he wanted was to spend the day with Brian's mom, aka Booma. So we had decided to go to Jackson for the weekend. Friday ther was no school so Tyler was home all day and the more time we spent together the more I realized he wasn't quite himself. When Brian left for his last class of the day I decided to take Tyler to the doctor. Well after the doctor listened to his lungs for like 3 minutes he asked if he had ever been diagnosed with Asthma. I said no. The doctor said he was showing lots of Asthma symptoms and had sever Bronchitis. AWESOME, since I had let him go to school the day before (thinking it was just allergies, which he always gets around this time of year) because it was the day we had decided to hand out birthday treats since they don't have school the entire week of his actual birthday. So after getting the antibiotic, steroids, breathing treatment medications, and the new tubing for the nebulizer we haven't used in 3 years we finally left for Jackson about 6:30. Tyler got sick half way there and warned us he needed to throw up so we got him out in time to throw up in the grass. Then of course Connor had to go to the bathroom, so we used the permanent port-a-potty by the river 500 ft down the road from where Tyler had thrown up.

In better news here is Tyler's 1st birthday party at Booma's house. Sorry about the picture quality, my camera was acting weird that day. This is when Connor popped a baloon and scared Ty just a bit :)

Just a funny face

My mother in law bought him this puzzle/game

reading the card

This is his second birthday party,
the first one ever on his real birthdiay I might add.
My family who lives close (1 brother, 1 sister and my parents)
and their families were all there.
We all met at Arctic Circle and it was pretty crowded
so we didn't all get to sit together but
the kids all got to play and have a pretty good time.

He got this crown at school when he took his treats to school.

He got this carpet from my sister.

He was pretty excited about the mini M&Ms.

He got Pete's Dragon from my sister too.

Tyler's primary teacher brought him this cake.

I tried to upload videos but Blogger just isn't letting me today.
Happy Birthday Buddy, we love you!!!

Connor's First Day of Preschool

Well he was anti picture, anti talking and well anti socializing today but he said he had fun and that he liked it and wants to go back. He was a little annoyed because I came on time and so he didn't get to hear the story they read while waiting for the moms to get there, so I'll try to be a little later Friday. He REFUSED to let me do his hair, which for Connor is very strange.
He always wants spiky hair but of course today, he refused.

Well here it is, so far he likes it and since Tyler loved it last year I'm sure he will love it too. The best part is, 3 afternoons a week I have only Bailey at home, strange but also exciting at the same time.

First Day of School

Well Tyler was more than a little excited to go to school today. His school starts at 11:45 and he has been asking when school starts since he got up at 8:30. Yeah needless to say we were one of the first kids there. He also wanted his hair into a faux-hawk but mom failed so spiky is how it ended up. The boy had a very hard time picking out his clothes this morning. Yesterday there was an open house and he knew just what to wear, a Toy Story shirt that put his head on Woody's body, today it took 15 minutes for him to pick. He insisted on a Batman backpack which we searched for weeks to find, and finally as a last resort we looked at Kmart in Jackson while we were there for a funeral this weekend, and they had 1 batman backpack, so that's why it's bigger than he is.
This is what Connor did while Tyler was at school.

Connor had a TOTAL meltdown this morning when he realized he did not get to school today. To the point he ended up in his room for over half an hour screaming this morning so I told him we would do letter practice and read and he was then content to stay home and start school next week.

Baby Blessing

Well on the 25th of July, right before my Bear Lake reunion we blessed Bailey. most of my siblings were able to make it. Brian's mom and sister were there and his best friend Dallas, his wife and parents were also able to make it. This is the bet picture we got as a family that day, yeah 2 kids was hard, 3 is pretty much impossible to get good pictures of. Oh and the boys had spent the day before at the Air Show and were REALLY sun burnt.

He likes her I swear
See

He was just cute
She likes him I swear :)

Hair bow by Shannon(sister), Blanket by Jessica(SIL), Dress by Lori Ann(cousin)

My cousin made me this dress more than 10 years ago when I was still in high school. After 2 boys we were beginning to believe it may hang unused in my closet forever. Since Bailey is SO little the dress was a little big on her but still beautiful! She did well and the blessing was nice. And Brian was really glad that the microphone was missing so only our family could hear what he was saying since he hates public speaking.

Family Reunion 2010

This year we had a family reunion at Bear Lake. My dad's family has a reunion here every other year and this was the year. My siblings were all together with all our kids and it's been like 4 years since that happened last. We stayed all together in one big cabin, which we have since vowed to NEVER do again. But it went pretty well, other than ther always being someone sick so at least 1 of the 3 bathrooms was always off limits to everyone else. (38 people, 3 bathrooms total, not OK)
We did crafts played games and just sat around and talked a lot. Here are just a few pictures of some of what we did...

more poolshe actually really liked it and I was SHOCKED
here is her very first attempt at the pool

It was really fun and there were no real injuries or fights or anything. Pretty amazing I thought. The kids had a lot of fun playing with all their cousins, 22 total at the time (23 now but that's another post). There was a lot of Geo-cashing, swimming, beach going, running, screaming, laughing, and late night talking. We were glad to come home and be able to sleep and shower and do laundry whenever we want. Bailey did not enjoy the reunion for the most part. We had never given her a bottle and when it gets noisy she REFUSED to eat so I would have to shut us in a closet (the only quiet one was the one in our room that connor had also decided should be his urinal so it didn't smell so hot in there) and calm her for like 30 minutes every time she wanted to eat. Needless to say I was more than exhausted by the time we got home.
