Beds?????

Connor in his "new" bed... Another shot of Connor in his big boy bed

Tyler's Favorite place to sleep.

Do you ever wonder why it is that you purchase beds, we do. We have been trying to get Connor into his "big boy" bed for a couple of months because he doesn't really fit in his pack and play anymore and can climb out of the crib. Well he was not such a fan. After a few tries, we decided we like our sleep too much. Well today we braved it again. We went and let him pickout new bedding in hopes that he would be so excited he'd want to sleep in it. He being the boy his is, chose Cars bedding but, still no luck. After an hour and a half of fussing and a lot pf playing we gave up on the nap. Well that and a couple noisy cousins didn't help much. Well after the no nap afternoon and cousins here most of the day to play with, he was pretty tired and acually went to bed tonight without too much of a fuss. For some reason, he always turns sideways and at least he can hang his feet off the bed instead of just get more pramped.
Tyler pretty much never sleeps in his bed. Since we moved to this house in May, he has either slept on the floor next to his bed or on this new couch at least 85% of the time. What can I say we spend money on nice bed and bedding and they either sleep on top of it or without it completely.
And on another note, after 3 trips to one auto shop and 1 trip to another one, we finally think we have our Expedition running well. Yeah the $750 we've spent so far was a little more than we had hoped, ok a lot more, but if it is going to acutally run, and get warm too it's worth it, right?

Connor sitting on daddy's lap watching TV
The kid never blinks when he's watching TV

Our nightly routine....
This is what our couch looks like pretty much every night. The boys love to be with dad and love to watch TV, this is the result. Connor looks really funny in the pictures from the not blinking thing. He consentrates so hard it almost looks painful.
Hope you all think they're at least mildly funny....

Connor and his spikey hair
A side view of the spikes

Connor Looking at his "Mooma" (Mickey Mouse)

As we were getting ready for church this morning I was gelling my hair and Connor kept saying "I do, I do" It's his way of saying he wants what you have. Well I had cut his hair a few weeks ago and had tried to keep the top long so I could spike it but haven't done it yet. Just thought I'd post a couple pictures so you could see how cute he is. :)

Care Repairs

Do you ever wonder why it is that a car will act up for days, that is until they know they have an appointment to get fixed?

I had been driving my car from Jackson to Idaho Falls to run some errands and then go to work in Rexburg for the week. Brian had also needed to come over but had to work in Jackson the next day so we drove over seperately. Well we met up for lunch and were doing a few errands together. As soon as he starts driving the car begins to repeat the action of the previous week, which we had already paid over $350 to fix. Well I immediately called the shop and made an appointment to bring it in, again. As soon as I was back behind the wheel, the car was behaving and didn't repeat the errant actions again. This morning I took the car into the shop anyway for it's appointments and of course, there is nothing wrong with it. Oh so annoying since I had to work out the rides around a hectic work schedule.

I have also gone back to work for the tax season but not wanting to branch out too much wanted to come back to the office I have worked in for the last 9 years, problem is, we now like 90-100 miles from that office. The other problem is, I hate driving on icy roads and well lets just say the recent 8 feet of snow (in the last 3 weeks) have made for less than ideal driving conditions. Yeah not looking forward to the 10 weeks of commuting but hey we all love out jobs right? Yeah I know commuting and doing taxes, you're all jealous.

Sorry no cute pictures this time, my camera is in Jackson, I am in Rexburg...

Oh and a little aside on the family picture, Tyler had fallen on a sprinkler the night before family pictures, it looks nasty but healed fast and did no major damage.

Our incredibly messy gingerbread cookies

Another view of the boys decorating the cookiesGot Sprinkles?
Tyler had been asking me for weeks to make gingerbread cookies. We had made sugar cookies the week before but that wasn't good enough so a couple days before Christmas, we did this....
Yeah it was Connor's first time getting to help decorate the cookies and he LOVED it. It took me and my brother-in-law's girlfriend over half an hour to clean up all the sprinkles. If anyone is interested, we STILL have plenty of cookies.

Giving it a try......

Well I have decided that since I love to read other people's blogs I should start one of my own. I also thought that maybe others could find humor in the rants of a mom of two VERY crazy boys.
